On Friday, August 27,2021, our ray of light is now shining in others.
Alicia graduated from St. Joseph School, Wilson High School, Florence, Al., Auburn University, and earned a Masters degree at University of North Alabama. She began her passion for finding a way to help others by starting her career at Riverbend, Florence, Al. She enjoyed her work there and loved her co-workers. Alicia then worked at Bradford, Florence, Al., where she learned many skills and decided to open her own business, Kelly Counseling LLC.
Anyone who knew Alicia, knew she loved music and concerts. She was a great artist and could design on a dime. She could shop and find bargains like no one else. Alicia always maintained a sense of humor even during the hardest of moments. She believed in fairness, and had a gift of making a person feel so much better.
Alicia is survived by her father, Ellis Swinea Jr. (Debbie); mother, Donna Peters ( Ralph “Poppy”); sister,Leslie Mitchell; and special nieces and nephew, Lily, Bailey and Brennan Mitchell, all of Florence,Al; best friend and cousin, Jessie Czermak, Washington, D.C.; numerous aunts,uncles, and cousins; and her precious dog, Minnie.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ellis and Dorothy Swinea Sr., Harold and Helen Peters, and Willard S. “Bill” and Sara Barnett; aunts, Angie Czermak and Sally Barnett Watkins Slagle; and uncle, Gary Peters.
In keeping with Alicia’s loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so that others may live.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 4, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a kind, caring woman.

Although I knew Alicia for many years, having her as a next-door neighbor when I had my store was the most fun. I still have the plant she gave me when we opened. I will cherish her memories.
Alicia was loved by many who knew her she has touched so many lifes as she worked at the center at riverbend she would help us through are day with a very beautiful smile she will be deeply be missed but never forgotton sincerly Leatus
I find it hard to bid farewell to such a beautiful soul, as I recall Alicia being always attentive to tasks, consistent and detailed on any assignment. She demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and had a caring personality. I’m so regretting we missed meeting for lunch before her demise, however, I will always remember her many kindnesses to me. To Donna, Leslie, both whom I recall she loved and adored, also her sister’s children, family, may you find comfort in sharing many loving memories she left for you to cherish forever. Ellis, I am so very sorry to read this obituary of your daughter. I only saw her once or twice when she was a little girl. You may remember that my youngest son, Eric Robison, died when he was 22, so I know very well how awful the pain is to lose a child. My heart is broken for you & Donna & the rest of your family as you suffer this deep grief.

Words cannot say what my heart wants to express in deep condolences to Donna and all of her precious family. I remember Alicia being very sweet with a great sense of humor, she was close to my cousin Beth who worked with her – they were hilarious together. All her family and friends are in my prayers.
