Daniel Emmitt Pounders, Jr., age 62, of Tuscumbia, passed away November 28, 2021. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Gerald Pennington officiating. Burial will be at Community Cemetery, Baker Lane, Tuscumbia.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Daniel E. Pounders, Sr.; mother, Margie Ruth Richardson; and brother, Dennis Pounders.
Survivors include his children, Anne Davis (Matt), Daniel Dailey (Tabitha), April Pounders (Brian) and Dustin Pounders (Melinda); sister, Margie Stephenson; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; aunt, Ruby Patterson; special cousin, Ethel Winters; and special friends, Sheila Whitten, Sonny Honey, Peewee Peden, and Brian Baker.
Danny was a native of Tuscumbia. He was a loving, caring man, a truck driver by profession and a mechanic by trade, who never met a stranger. He was a Christian, attending the Littleville Church of Christ. He enjoyed telling stories about his truck driving years. He was always ready to lend a hand and help in any way possible. He especially loved his mother, children and family.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Amedisys Hospice, Florence Nursing and Rehab, and Independent Medical for their loving care.
