Henry Oliver Short
All who knew and loved him have lost Henry, Hank, Daddy, Dan-Dan. He died peacefully at his home overlooking the Tennessee River in Sheffield, Alabama with his family surrounding him. We so miss him.
Born in Nashville and raised in Chattanooga TN, his engineering work took him and his family to several companies in the southern states, eventually landing in Lynchburg, VA at Glamorgan Pipe & Foundry in 1962.
His work at Glamorgan and his later move to Simplimatic, and Alliance Industrial established him as a major contributor to projects of those companies. His work was important to him. He valued what he did and the accomplishments and friendships made during his 58-year career.
He was a Harley rider, a Johnny Cash fan, a cat lover, a sportsman – track, boxing, baseball, hunting, fishing. His devotion to his family and friends was paramount throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife of 40+years, Robin B. Short; a brother, A. Donald Short; 4 children, and 6 grandchildren.
Any recognitions/donations can be directed to the Lynchburg, VA. Humane Society.
