Jackie Dale
Wagner

November 22, 1941 - January 2, 2023

Jackie Dale Wagner was born a fighter and survivor in a coal mining camp in Arjay, Kentucky on November 22, 1941. He left for Paradise on January 2, 2023. After giving a giant hug to Jesus, Jack was greeted by his fur baby Hobo and the rest of the Wagner pack along with family and friends. He can currently be found fishing with his buddies Mikie and Paul, telling tall tales, and laughing.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Bertha and Dan, siblings Dan and Phyllis, and his mother-in-law, Lucille Hamilton Duckett.

Jack is survived by his wife Sherry Wagner; children Richard Wagner, Joseph Sharpton (Tina), and Amy Sharpton; three grandchildren; special friends Jimmy Short, Gary McKee, Kay and CB Myers, Larry and Stasia Pitman, and Carlos and Linda Perez.

Jack joined the Army in 1959. During his military career, he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant in the Special Forces. Jack volunteered for two tours in Vietnam in honor of his brother Dan. During those tours with the Special Forces he was assigned to MAC SOG. He left the Army in September 1970.

After the military, Jack obtained his degree from Lincoln Memorial University and began working for the Department of Labor. He remained an employee of the Federal government for the rest of his career and retired as a Special Agent with FEMA.

Some of Jacks favorite things were hunting, fishing, laughing with friends and family, eating good catfish, watching football with Hobo, and spending the last 28 years with the love of his life, Sherry.
