William "Billy" Paul

Billy Paul Sharp died unexpectedly and peacefully on January 11th in Florence, AL at the age of 71.
Billy is survived by his son Braden Sharp, of Florence, AL. his sisters Nancy Smith and Betty Sharp, both of Florence, his granddaughter Maddlynn Stafford, of Florence, AL, and nephew Samuel McDonnell,of Florence, AL.
He was preceded in death by wife Rita Sue Lamb-Sharp, of Florence, AL, parents James Buford and Jean Gay Sharp, of Florence, AL and nephew James Alexander Sharp.
Billy was born on November 11th, 1951, in Sheffield, AL. He graduated from University of North Alabama with a degree in Music and Computer Science. He married Rita Sue Lamb, in 1989. Billy served in the Armed Forces and received 3 medals of accommodation for his service. He was a member of the music community in the Shoals area, working with many different artists through Fame Studios, Muscle Shoals Sound, and many more. He also helped to bring beautiful music to his church through his knowledge and love of music as a sound engineer. He attended St. James United Methodist and formerly Brandon New Vision. He also ran his own Computer repair business in his spare time.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday January the 21st, at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Methodist Church, with reception to follow. Pastor Dean Bowers will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Billy’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to defray funeral expenses.
