Eleanor Roberta Hendrix Guthrie, age 79 of Rogersville, formerly of Florence, passed away May 19, 2020. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Vandiver Hollow Baptist Church Cemetery in Spring Valley.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Hendrix; father, Markus Hendrix; husband, James “J.W.” Guthrie; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Butler; son, Mark Guthrie (Kathy); grandchildren, Harley Clemons (B.J.), Jessica Guthrie and Coriann Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Tucker Clemons and Harper Clemons; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was a member of Gray’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Greenhill. She was a retired L.P.N. with E.C.M. Hospital. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Lyman Mitchell for his loving care.

Teresa, Mark, and our extended family- Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Aunt Eleanor always put a smile on our faces. She was a hoot and will be missed. We are here if you need us.
Only got to talk with your Mom a couple of times but I knew right away I would like her so sorry my prayers are 🙏 with you and your family
Mamaw was the best. Not sure how we’re going to learn to live in a world without her. I’ll make sure Tucker and Harper never forget your memory. We love you, you crazy ol woman!
