William “Head” Louis Ivey, age 55, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021. Visitation will be at Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, May 3, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and service will be Tuesday, May 4, at noon in the chapel. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery.

William was born in Florence, Alabama to Louis C. Ivey (L.C. Ivey) and Mary Marlene Staggs Baskins. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Baskins; and wife, Joan English Ivey.

He is survived by his children, Dewayne Ivey, Jamie Ivey, Jessica Coan, Ashley Rich, Wesley Bevis and  Dave Bevis;  siblings, Jimmy Lee Ivey, Tammy Baskins, Vickie Holt, Billy Joe Ivey, Rita Ivey and Gary Wayne Baskins; grandchildren, Jaden Sean Ivey, Haley Elizabeth Ivey, Braxton Dewayne Ivey, Trinity Rich, Jairen Rich, Shianna Vickers, Jashua Petty, Zoey Bevis, and  Zane Bevis.

William loved fishing and playing bingo. He also enjoyed searching for treasures at yard sales and flea markets.

Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Mitchell, Donnie Baskins, Charlie Mitchell, Jimmy Ivey Jr., Brandon Ivey, Greg Steele and Jazz Ivey. Marty Baskins will serve as honorary pallbearer.
