Betty Jo Gregory Wyatt, age 89, of Florence, passed away May 21, 2021. A private graveside service will be held at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Williams Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Wyatt was preceded in death by her father, Gus Gregory; mother, Jo Hayes Byrd; step-mother, Ruth Gregory; and great-grandson, Jaylon Williams.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Glen F. Wyatt; daughter, Jerri Ann Wyatt Alexander (Duane); son, Gregory Glen Wyatt (Tammy); grandchildren, Ben Alexander (Sarah Beth), Katie Alexander Ennis (Matt), Elizabeth Wyatt Williams (Nic), Alex Wyatt (Kelsey), Samantha Wyatt Thompson (DeShawn); ten great-grandchildren; half-sister, Wanda Gregory Mullins; and best friends, Christine Grigsby, Freda Olive and Susan Barber.
During her children’s school years, Betty worked tirelessly as room mother, PTA officer, field trip chaperone, and chauffeur. Betty then worked for many years as a substitute teacher and teachers’ aide in the Florence City School System. She touched the lives of many children during these years. She was a wonderful wife, mother and MawMaw Bets.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Florence Public Library.

Glen, Jerri Ann, Greg, & families:
We were deeply saddened to hear the news of Ms Betty’s passing. We want to express our deepest sympathies and extended prayers at this season in your lives. We have fond memories during our children’s time at Brandon school and the many interactions with Ms Betty that happened almost on a daily basis, while my memories go back well into my childhood. We pray that the Lord will bring to remembrance the many precious memories of love and laughter that you shared during her lifetime and bring comfort to your hearts.
Dear Glen, Spud and Greg: I was saddened to see the notice of Betty’s passing in the paper today. Since I have married again and have been in Florence again for the last few years, I have wondered many times where y’all all might be. I wish you all comfort and sweet memories of your wife and mom. I sure have many, many good memories from long ago of all of you. I pray God will give you all the strength you need to do what you must do during this very difficult time.
