Noel Orbia Hall, Sr., age 90, of Florence, Alabama, passed away July 25, 2021. Burial will be Monday, August 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.

Noel was born in Cleburne County, Alabama, August 31, 1930. He attended elementary school in Heflin and Oxford, Alabama. In 1949, after graduating high school at Oxford, Alabama, he joined the United States Marine Corps. During his career, he served tours of duty at MCRD Paris Island, SC, MCAS Cherry Point, NC, MCAS Beaufort, SC, JCS Washington, DC, and Okinawa, retiring in 1970. He attended the University of Maryland and was involved in the sale of real estate in Northern Virginia.

Noel was the husband of Rear Admiral Mary F. Hall, Nurse Corps, U.S. Navy. From the time of their marriage in 1964, he assisted Mary with her career, until she retired in 1991 as Director, Navy Nurse Corps. Noel was also involved in the restoration and management of rental and personal properties for many decades.

Noel was a Mason and a member of the Florence Lodge #14,F&AM. Other memberships he held were in The American Legion, Post 11, Florence AL, The Fleet Reserve Association, and the National Rifle Association.

Noel was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt R. Hall and Exie L. Finnell Hall; two brothers, Garland and Larry Hall; two sisters, Yvonne Willimon and Mary Ogden; son, Noel O. Hall, Jr; granddaughter, Amber Gilliland.

Survivors include his love and mate of 57 years, Mary Fields Hall; sister, Nancy Hendrix (Gene); son, David R. Hall; daughter, Melanie Durham; daughter-in-law, Melanie Hall; granddaughters, Sarah Jean (Mitch), Emily Brown (Brandon); and a host of great- grandchildren.

His life was blessed with a strong faith in God, a loving soul mate, a great career as a U.S. Marine, and with many, many friends and relatives.
