David Edmond Collier died unexpectedly on October 23, 2018.  David was born on May 10, 1965 in Florence, Alabama to Bill and Carolyn Collier, who survive him.  He attended the University of North Alabama, majoring in Marketing and Management.  He married Missy Calloway Collier on July 2, 2005 in Florence, where they raised their daughter Kate.    His passion for great food earned him the unparalleled reputation as the ultimate “host with the most” and he was known affectionately by his friends as “Granny Collier,” for his care-giving, concern, and pulse on the goings-on in his beloved hometown.  David was a master of salesmanship and the owner of LCC Properties.    

He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Missy, daughter Kate, by his parents.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Crawford and Maggie Yerbey, and Edmond and BerthaCollier.   

Funeral services will take place at First United Methodist Church, 415 N. Seminary St., Florence AL 35630 on October 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., with Reverend Dale Cohen and Dr. Terry Stubblefield officiating  

The family will visit prior to the service at 10:15 a.m. and will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be directed to Mary Jen Crane Fund at Florence First United Methodist Church, 415 N. Seminary St., Florence AL 35630.    

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to these dear friends who are serving as Pallbearers: Jeff Garrett, Rusty Carbine, John Franck, Joey Carlisle, Calvin Durham, Jamie Hillis, Bill Jordan, and Ken Davis, and honorary Pallbearers Tim Sewell and Brad Conner. Spry-Williams Funeral Home directing.
