Sarah Ellen Thompson Hill, of Florence, passed away on November 1, 2018, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home.

She is survived by her long time love, Billy Ray Taylor; son, Winton Alan Hill, Jr. “Bubba”; daughters, Ramona Lynn Strait, Nancy Denise Hill (John Hale), and Jewel Marie Wade (Robert Mitchell “Mitch), all of Florence; grandchildren, Shannon Gibson, Dani  Sarhie Lindley (Josh Russell), Tori McKenzie Plyler (Lantz) and Joshua Alan Hill, Sarah Elizabeth Hill; great-grandchildren Jessica Danielle Gibson, Evan James Neill, Kaegan Noelle Lindley,  Asa Mariella Plyler and Luca Baxley Plyler. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winton Alan Hill, Sr.; son, James Virgil Hill “Dutch”; parents, James and Lou Ella Thompson; granddaughter, Chelsea Marie Neill; brothers Jonus, William, Junior, Howard, Melvin, Marvin, Brancel, Alan and Roy; sister, Jewel and a set of twin siblings who passed away at birth.

Visitation will be Friday, November 2, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Saturday November 3, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Miles Stutts officiating.  Burial will be at North Carolina Cemetery.

Ellen was a member of East Florence Church of Christ.  She was retired from Reynolds Alloys.
