Meredith Ann Pettus, age 88, of Florence, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2018.  Family will receive friends at Spry-Williams Funeral Home on Sunday, December 9th, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Monday, December 10th, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.  The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kevin Johnson officiating.  Burial will be at Pettus Cemetery in Lexington. 

Miss Pettus was preceded in death by her parents, William Andrew and Birdie Jane Pettus; and siblings, William Horace Pettus, Mary Marguerite Eaker, Wayne S. Pettus, Virginia Lemmond and Dorothy Jane Ritchey.  Survivors include her sister, Martha Faye Bynum and a large extended family who loved her dearly.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Florence and considered her friends there as family.   She was retired from South Central Bell and remained active for the rest of her life.  She was very kind and caring, always doing things for others.
