Anthony “Tony” Risner, age 67, of Florence, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 24, 2018. Visitation will be Friday, December 28th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Sherrod Valley Cemetery. Brother Ellis Coats will officiate the service.
Tony was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and enjoyed having his family and friends over to watch the Alabama Football games. He loved his grandchildren more than they will ever know.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Early and Ollie Risner; brothers, Paul, Bobby, David, and Hollis Risner; and sisters, Lois Caudle and Brenda Sims.
Survivors include his son, Andy Risner (Melody); daughter, Carrie Risner; brother, Gary Risner (Juanita); special companion, Joyce Ragan; children, Jeffrey Burbank (Susan), Melinda Fisher (Howard), and Diane Matlock (Craig); grandchildren, Mallory and Brody Risner, Bailey Fromhold, Samantha Sledge, Blaine Delia, Maranda Hodgeland (Dane), Kaitlen Tippett (Austin), Seth and Jake Burbank, Breanna Cromwell, Corey and Zack Matlock; great-grandchildren, Charlie McCrary, Ella and Kinzlee Hodgeland, Amarcia and Faith Matlock; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brody, Billy, and Tommy Risner, Blaine Delia, Seth and Jake Burbank, and William Stevenson.

So sorry to hear about Tony. My prayers are with Carrie, Andy, Gary and family during this difficult time. It just seems like yesterday when all the brothers and sisters would gather at Tommie Sue’s for get together for sharing laughs, stories and great food.
