Lowell Gayle Williams, age 75, of Florence, passed away December 27, 2018.  Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2018, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Daniel Michael officiating.  Burial will be at Barkley Cemetery.

Gayle was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.  He was the chief of police and fire chief  for the city of Killen in the 1960’s.  He was retired from Reynolds Reclamation Plant and Wise, where he was an equipment operator.  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Florence.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Dalton and Audene Williams; and brother, David.  Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce Williams; children, Anthony Williams (Kristi) and Melinda King (Timothy); grandchildren, Matthew and Gage Williams, Jonathan, Joshua, Joseph and Maddie King; great-grandchildren, Kylee Williams, Gannon King; and brothers, Troy Williams (Kim) and Britt Williams (Donna).
