Lindsay Leigh “Lindy” Freeman Landers, age 67, of Decatur, left this world and entered into the arms of her Lord on June 8, 2019. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, with a celebration of her life following in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m.
Lindy retired from Belk Department Store after 45 years, working in management in stores in Florence, Decatur, Huntsville, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. She was a member of the Center Star United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Brown Freeman and brother, Jerry Freeman. Surviving her are her son, Matthew (Roxanne) Landers; mother, Laurie Freeman; grandchildren, David, Luke, Raylynn and Elijah Landers; God-daughter, Alicia Allen; brother, Billy (Diane) Freeman, Jr.; sister, Robin (Ricky) Holden; sister-in-law, Ramona Freeman; aunt, Jean Gautney; Bob Landers; numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Lindy was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lindy was my first supervisor at Parisian. When she changed departments, she left some very big shoes to fill. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. When I would see her years later she was always so warm and welcoming. She will be missed by all who were touched by her. I am honored to have known her. My deepest condolences to her family.
I am so sorry for your loss. No words can take away the pain of losing a loved one, especially when it was way too soon. May you be comforted in God’s Word; that your beloved Lindy is in a deep sleep, in peace (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14).

I worked with Lindy T Parisian. She was a great boss and a really nice person. So sorry for your loss.
We moved to Decatur and joined Central Methodist Church in 1961, and I can say I can’t remember NOT knowing Lindy after that. Later we graduated from high school together. I always admired her – she seemed always pulled together with a great senese of humor. My deepest sympathies to you.
I worked for Lindy at both the Decatur and Florence Parisian store. She was such a classy lady with a quick wit. My prayers are with her family.
Prayers for Lindy’s family, I grew up behind them and needless to say lost contact over the years. I pray for peace and that God wraps his arms around this family and give them comfort.

Lindy was a friend and a colleague of mine for the past 6 years. She showed me that if you take care of your people they will take care of you. I will remember her for her humor, Kindness, and her faith. Lindy, you touched many of us during your time on this earth and we are better off for it. I am glad you are no longer suffering. My prayers and condolences go out to the Landers and Freeman family in this time of grieving.
I was so sorry to read the obituary today of Lindys passing. I have been on vacation so just now catching up on 3 weeks of news. I met Lindy when she lived in the same apartment complex in Bham back around 1983 and remembering how sweet she was and her dog named Roxanne. I thought her of her as a good neighbor and considered her a friend. We both moved and went separate ways but was so glad to run into her yrs. later here in Huntsville at Pariaians. It was so good to see her and catch up on her life. Her hair had gotten a little gray but other than that still looked the same classy,sweet person. My prayers go out at the family at this difficult time.
