Brenda Mae
Phillips

June 4, 1947 - January 7, 2020

Brenda Phillips left her life here for her eternal life in heaven on January 7 at 12:15 a.m. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at New Beginning Church of Florence. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Bro. Tom Phillips, two sons, Scott (Nan) and Danny (Tara), three beautiful grandchildren:  Hunter (fiance Jessica), Kate and Sarah.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life.  She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (Hayward), a niece, Kristi, and two nephews, Matt and Todd.

Brenda was a devoted pastor’s wife for 40+ years who loved the vision of her church, New Beginning, and the people who make that vision happen.  She served beside her husband, Tom, not only in his capacity as leader of the New Beginning Church, but also in his counseling ministry as well.  All of Tom’s clients have commented to him about how they looked forward to those calls from Miss Brenda confirming their appointments.  She left this life with a peace and a certainty of heaven which she said before she left she wished everyone could have.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Hillary Delarosa and to Kindred Hospice for the loving care they provided.  You may sign the guest register at sprywilliams.com

  1. I am heartbroken for your entire family, and I love you all. I cant thank Brother Tom enough for everything he has done for me over the years, including Darryl’s funeral the other day. Please understand that I just cant do another funeral yet ~ it’s too soon. Brenda knew what was awaiting her and now she’s perfect in God’s arms <3 love to you all <3

  2. I am truly sorry for this loss. My family treasured our time with the Phillips family and church. Miss Brenda was a wonderful person and great example of how to be a lady. My family is better for knowing your family and we’re very grateful. God bless. We love all of you.

  3. Dear Danny and Scotty and your families we extend our deepest sympathies to you all following the crossing over of your beloved Mother, Brenda. Your Mother sounded like a precious soul. I know there will be a huge hole in your heart for a long, long time. May John 14:1-3 give each of you peace and comfort. Steve and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers now and in the days ahead.
