  1. Our Prince Philip
Posting this in honor of my precious brother Philip who died so unexpectedly. So unexpected, so tragic, and yet Philip was indeed Prince Philip to those who knew him. Philip lived by the code of heroes like our dad, John Wayne, and other just really fine men. He wanted to please the LORD. He did things for our family, especially our mother, that only he could do, saving her and all of us so much stress for years. Nobly. He worked hard. He loved April for sure, and he love, protected, and cared for her for years! Thank You LORD, for all Your unspeakable gifts, but right now, thanks for Prince Philip!
I weep as I post this, but he deserves praise and honor, in my humble opinion.
He called me just out of the blue a few weeks ago, just to check on me, make sure I did not have the virus. He was funny, happy, upbeat, and said I should cook James Clay a steak outside on the grill sometime! I will, dear Brother!
Philip, you are so close to my heart! We need more time with you, and I look forward to having you for eternity, with our Savior, in a much better world!
    love always
Your sister in life and in Christ

  6. Philip, the past 44 years that I have known you are filled with many good memories. To echo Sharon, you were a Princely Brother-in-Law. Thank you for caring for Sharon’s mother those final years as she battled Parkinson’s. Thank you for escorting Grandma Zadie to Texas to attend our daughter Julie’s wedding in 2007. In the Group Picture at the reception, you are standing right behind the bride and groom so that now each time we gaze at it we will see you and remember how much you were a part of our lives. Thank you for later loading Sharon’s furniture and other inherited items from her Mom’s estate into your pickup and driving them to Texas (2014?). But we are especially indebted to you for giving Sharon a special memory last May when you drove her back to the hotel following her brother Loyd’s Military Honor ceremony and then driving her on to the family get together at Loyd’s home. That private one-to-one visit is very precious to her now. Finally, thank you for the special maroon and white cap you gave me years ago where you had them add a special label: “Native Texan”. I will think of you every time I wear it. We look forward to having you for eternity, with our Savior, in a much better world!
    love always
    Your brother-in-law and in Christ

  10. Philip you will be missed. You made April so happy and we will cherish the times we had with you. May you Rest In Peace.

  11. My dear baby brother and friend. My heart is broken because I didn’t want you to go. We were a mischievous pair as we grew up together. A bond was made only death could break. You have left a hole in my heart. The world is still rotating, cars are still moving, and life goes on. Without you, baby brother, the world with not be the same. I have lost my baby brother, but you have won a sweet victory. I’m not sure what you are doing right now, but I imagine you are with Daddy and Mama skipping rocks on a calm lake be loved and protected by a good and loving God. Until the day we all meet again, go with love.
    Love you bunches.
