Clarence “Bill” Wylie Murphy, age 81, of Waterloo, passed away June 25, 2020. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. William Perry officiating.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Blanch and Pat Murphy and sisters, Lorene Murphy, Ruemae Bevis and Bernett Call. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Murphy; son, David McCaulla, Jr.; sisters, Bernice Faulkner and Lola Woods; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and beloved pets, Beasley and Sally.
Bill was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS F D Roosevelt. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion. He was in the wholesale and retail business for 45 years, traveling all over the world. He was also in the building and remodeling business. He loved being in the country and he raised miniature horses.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Barrett, Will Vickers, Chris Oberhause, Derrick Tilley, Scotty Skaggs, Skyler Skaggs and Clovis Parrish.
He was a loving husband and father, and a friend to all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
The family would like to express their appreciation of the Veterans’ Administration and to New Beacon Hospice for their loving care.

Bev, hun we are so sorry for your loss. We have counted the days down until we would be able to go to the Pigeon Forge craft show and see you and Bill and numerous other friends we have made over the years. It has been a blessing to have met you and Bill. I wish I could give you a big hug and let you know we are truly sorry for your loss. God bless you my friend. Sending prayers and hugs
