Robert David Hyde, age 80, of Florence, passed away November 10, 2020.  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 13, from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Florence.  A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens at 12:00 noon., with Ronnie Pannell officiating.   Masks and social distancing are requested.

Mr. Hyde was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ora Hyde; brothers, W.C. (“Dub”) and Charles; sister, Jean Cook; and three infant sons.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cooper Hyde; son, Stephen Hyde and wife, Tara; grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Andrew and Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hyde was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon.  He loved to play pool, winning several tournaments.

Pallbearers will include Phil Austin, Brad Cooper, Donnie Haynes, Bill Hyde, David Hyde, Chuck Hyde, Robert Hyde, Matthew Hyde and Andrew Hyde.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jim Mason, Ken Westmoreland, W.R. Jumper, Al Kelley, Olan Wright, Elvis Phillips and Chuck Clark.

  1. I only met Mr. Hyde once or twice, but if his son is any reflection of his character, then he must’ve been a man of kindness, honor, and integrity. Prayers for comfort, peace, and healing. I wish I could attend the service, but it will no doubt be a lovely one. May God be glorified!
