February 4, 1947 - August 21, 2020

Larry Wilburn McGee, age 73, of Florence, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Tri-cities Memorial Gardens.

Survivors are his wife, Melinda Balch McGee; children, Channing McGee (Rhiannon), Brandon McGee (Kelley), and Nathan McGee (Meghan); sister, Glenda Morrow; grandchildren, Kinyaa’aanii, Nizhoni, Eithan, Nolan, Wesley, Lucas, Melody, and Kallen.

Larry was retired from Custom Extrusion and a 1965 graduate of Coffee High School and Florence State. He was a member of CrossPoint Church of Christ. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life. In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shoals Sav-A-Life. A special thanks to Dr. Brian Cole and Ashley Moody for the care given.

  1. Larry was always a very kind and caring soul to everyone that I seen him around. He was one if the best examples of how we all should treat each other..,,,,My prayers are with the all of the family during this difficult time,,,,,He will be missed by many!

  3. Larry was always very friendly and personable. He liked to talked when he saw you and always had that smile on his face. I know Melinda and the family will miss him . This is not the end for Larry as you well know. Prayers for your family.

  5. I was truly saddened to hear from Nathan that he had passed. Our families have know each other for over 35 years. I think we all will miss his unique blend of toughness and kindness.
