Robert (RC) Coleman Newton, 81, died Feb. 7, 2023, at NAMC. He is preceded in death by his spouse of 16 years Marie Newton; parents, Robert (Bob) and Mary Newton; siblings, Mary Howard, Richard Newton, Charles Newton, Jeanette Birdwell, Randy Newton, Tim Newton; and brother-in-law Roy Butler.

He is survived by his sisters Faye Butler and Ann (Dearl) Poss; sisters-in-law, Betty Newton, Mary Newton and Cheryl Kelley; children, Carl Pigg and Sarah Brown; 2 grandchildren; and a host or nieces and nephews.

The service will be held at Williams Funeral Home located at 1950 Helton Drive, Florence, AL, on Friday, February 10, with visitation 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and the service to follow.

Pallbearers will be Chris Butler, Kenny Butler, Josh Butler, Greg Wigington, Richie Newton, Corey Newton, Alex Newton, and Skylar Shepherd.

He was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Rogersville, AL.

He loved to be outdoors whether he was collecting items to be scrapped or helping family with important projects. He was loved by so many and be missed by all.

A special thanks to Waylon and Dianne Hill for all the love they have shown him throughout the years.

  1. Uncle Robert you was really a sweet and loving soul know you and aunt Marie are back together on the streets of gold. You will be deeply missed by so many. This song comes to mind to me everytime I seen you and know it fits you perfectly Want we have a good time up in heaven listening to the angels singing all the time never any sadness living all this favor all the time.
