Ellen Sue Thompson Tucker, age 68, of Florence, passed away September 1, 2023.  Services will be announced later. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Ellen is preceded in death by her father, (Coon) Lucius Thompson; mother, Opal Thompson; sister, Kay Kay Thompson; brothers, Earl Hills, David Hills; and sister, Linda Hills.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen Tucker; children, Timothy Allen Tucker (Stacy), Stephanie Tucker Fields (Shawn); brothers, Felix (Butch) Thompson and Kenneth Allen Thompson. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Whitney Crimson Tucker Coffey, Sawyer Tucker, Haley Tucker Putman, Tyson Fields, Taylor Fields, Isaiah Fields; and great-grandchild, August Coffey.

Ellen was a member of Petersville Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, camping, and road trips. She loved her puppy, Ellie. She was the love of her life.

The family would like to thank Heather and Marsey of Alabama Hospice of the Shoals, Dr. Arron Karr and Amanda McGee.

  1. I worked with Sue for a few years before she retired from Mitchell. She always kept me on track with life, lifted me up and encouraged me. She was a special lady. And will be missed.

  2. I am So sorry to hear this. I Loved that Lady, we went to school together for our RN. We all studied hours together each week, ate snacks, talked, visited, Laugh, and actually learned a lot ,Sue was a Great Nurse, A wonderful friend and will certainly be missed. I know she is Loving Heaven!!!

  3. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. I only knew her for a year but in that year I learned so much about her. I always looked forward to going and seeing her. She would always put a smile on your face. We would talk about movies that we have seen or our love for our fur babies. She was a wonderful friend and she will be missed. Praying for the family!

  4. I worked with Sue in CCU at ECM hospital. She was so kind to everyone, always smiling and had such a positive attitude! Loved working with her. I will keep you all in my prayers 💗🙏🏻

  5. Sue was a such an amazing gal. I worked with her in CCU at ECM. She is finally getting the recognition for that in Heaven with the stars in her crown.
