Frances Ruth Smith Williams, age 76, of Florence, passed away January 11, 2023, after an extended illness.  There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 14, at 3:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, with brother Justin Pullum officiating.

Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Dianna “Anna”; mother, Mary Young Smith; father, Horace B. Smith; two infant brothers; and sisters, Delores Plunkett and Rita Phenthean.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, James L. Williams; daughter, Angel Dent (Danny); sons, Marc Williams (Emily) and Tyler Williams; grandchildren, Savanna Williams, Gabriel Sayilgan, Dalton Williams, Skyler Dent, Zachary Williams, and special grandson, Preston DeSpain; sisters, Stella Olive and Maryln Curtis (James); and her special pet, Bonnie.

Frances loved gardening, the beach, the University of Alabama football (Roll Tide!), but her favorite time was the time spent with her family.  Her grandchildren were “the light of her life”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clearview Cancer Institute in Huntsville, AL.
