Louis Theo Thigpen, 94, passed away March 5, 2024. Visitation will be Friday, March 8 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will start at 1:00 pm in the chapel with Rod Stansky officiating and a private burial will follow. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Frazier Thigpen; daughter, Connie Jean Thigpen; parents, Cliff and Marie Thigpen; brother, Charlie Thigpen; and sisters, Lib Nichols and Sue Smith.

Survivors include his children, Steve Thigpen (Valerie), and Dennis E. Thigpen (Debbie); grandchildren, Wendi Thigpen Simmons (Jason), and Brandy Thigpen; great-grandchildren, Lane Simmons, Brianna Simmons, Allie Simmons, JJ Simmons, and Mason Hicks.

Louis enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of Mary’s Chapel Church of the Nazarene, where he was voted “Father of the Year in 2005”. He retired from Champion International Paper in 1987. He was a United States Airforce Veteran.
