Linda Sue
Cobb

September 23, 1939 - March 7, 2024

Linda Sue Alexander Cobb, age 84, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, died peacefully at her home on March 7, 2024, following a brief illness.  Visitation will be Saturday, March 9 at Williams Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. The service will start at 2:00 pm with burial immediately following in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Edwin Neal Cobb; her parents James Price Alexander, Elizabeth Phillips Alexander; and brothers William Byron Alexander and John Thomas Alexander.  She is survived by her children, Tony Cobb (Frances), Michael Cobb (Teresa), Lisa McCain (Marty), and Susan Potter (Jimmy); grandchildren, Ashley Cobb, Magan Bullock (Seth), Myranda Cobb (Will),  AJ Cobb (Allie), Austin McCain (Bailey), Ashley Butler (Cory), Dusty McCain (Beth), Tracy Garner (Jenard), Ashley Taylor (Nick) Linda Kathryn Bewley (Haleigh); great-grandchildren, Sophia, Brooklyn, and Lydia Bullock, Easton McCain, Camron Butler, McKenzie Butler, Cooper Butler and Izzy Butler, Audrey McCain,  Jabauri, Jeremiah and Jaakan Garner, Lucas and Payton Cobb, Axel Bewley, Logan Taylor; and great-great-grandchild, Ocean Garner. Additional survivors include siblings, Lavera White (late Reeder), Jimmie Doris Davis (Bobby), Phillip Alexander (Kay) and Carolyn Davis (late Gerald).

She was born in Lauderdale County to James Price Alexander and Elizabeth Phillips Alexander.  Sue graduated from Lauderdale County High School before marrying the love of her life, Edwin Neal Cobb.  After they married, they had 4 children, and raised them together until 1977 when Edwin was killed in a commercial airlines flight.  At that time Sue’s family rallied around her and helped her raise her 4 children.  Tony, Michael, Lisa, and Susan.  She retired from Eastwood Church of Christ after 30 years of service.  She loved the lord and was happy to serve in any way at Eastwood.

To know her was to love her.  She was selfless and would help anyone at any time, day, or night.  Sue lived life to the fullest and set an example of a Christian Mother and Friend.   While raising her children she had several jobs, but her work as the secretary at Eastwood Church of Christ was her biggest Joy.  Her goal in life was to raise her children in the church and see them prosper in the Lord.  She was an avid seamstress and sewed for the public for many years.  She picked up crocheting after she retired.  She made many hats, gloves and scarves for her children and grandchildren.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy as well and loved them unconditionally.

Special thanks to her caregivers; Dana Davis, Allie Pettus, Ashley Waldrep, Dewana Jackson.  Also, to Compassus Hospice Care and their staff.

  1. Tony, Mike, Lisa and Susan,…. Your mom was an example of what a Christian woman is. That is the best compliment I think one can have. At one time she was like a second mother to me. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
