Bretherick

August 4, 1944 - June 27, 2025

Bobby Ray Bretherick, age 80, of Florence, passed away June 27, 2025.  A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at a later date. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Nadine Bretherick; brother, Jimmy Bretherick; sister, Janet Bretherick; brother-in-law, Bob Tidwell; and his beloved yorkie, Buttons.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ginger Bretherick; daughter, Rhonda West (Keith); son, Joel Bretherick (Jake); brother, Ricky Bretherick (Wanda); and sister, Sue Tidwell.  Additional survivors include grandchildren, Nathan West (Kate) and Katelan Creasy (Joe); great-grandchildren, Weston, Conner, and Micah Creasy; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and dogs, Sweet Pea and Sally.

Bobby was a devoted member of Singing River Church of Christ, where his faith and fellowship brought him deep joy. He cherished his extended family and many friends, always offering kindness and warmth to those around him. A passionate sports fan, Bobby especially loved cheering on his beloved Crimson Tide. His true pride, however, was in the great outdoors—he was an avid hunter and wished to be remembered foremost as a deer hunter. Bobby faced Parkinson’s disease with grace and gratitude, thankful for those who supported him along the way. He especially appreciated Bri Maharrey of Helen Keller Wellcare for enhancing his quality of life, as well as the compassionate care provided by Gentiva Hospice. He was also deeply thankful for the love and support from Petersville Church of Christ and his cherished church family at Singing River Church of Christ. His legacy lives on in the memories of those he touched and the values he held dear—faith, family, friendship, and a love for the hunt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Bobby’s memory, to support continued research and care for others affected by the disease.
