Doris was born March 18, 1935, and lived a wonderful life. She was devoted to Christ and read her bible daily and attended church her entire life. She loved gospel music as well. Her most precious times were watching her grandchildren grow up and spending time with them. In her younger years she loved to travel, avid book reader, discuss politics and walk two miles every day, attended weekly ballroom dance classes and watch Alabama Football and Basketball every time they played. She had a deep love for dogs and raised many dogs over her lifetime. She found joy in simple things and was always easy to be around, always encouraging, kind, humble and thoughtful of others. Most of all she was a nurturing, loving, selfless patient and a supportive mother who would do anything for her children, and her grandchildren.
Doris retired from USDA and worked as an office manager for Farmers Home Administration where she helped many farmers with loans, she truly loved her career.
The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Staff of Madison Manor and Compassus Hospice care for taking wonderful care of her during her final days.
