Curtis Dannie
Webb

November 29, 1950 - October 25, 2025

Curtis Dannie Webb passed away on October 25, 2025, following a long illness.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 30th, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be at Railroad Cemetery.

Curtis was one of three children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Stults/Webb, father, Warner Webb, Mother, Marie Linville/Webb, and sister, Lessie Maynor. He is survived by a younger sister, Judy Drabkin and husband Lou of Madison, AL., a brother-in-law, Michael Maynor of Dorothy, WV, three nieces, Tina Maynor, of Beckley, WV, Donna Lusk, of Princeton, WV., and Jennifer Lively of Birmingham, AL., and a nephew, Joe Lively of Madison, AL.

Curtis and Pat were married for 54 years, and she preceded him in death only 4 months ago on June 5, 2025. They had no children but had many dogs they loved down through the years that they spoiled and was their precious fur babies. Curtis was of the Baptist faith and he and Pat attended the Underwood Baptist Church in Florene before they both became too ill. Like his dad, Curtis loved nature and loved nothing more than being outside piddling in their yard with usually at least one of the fur babies close by keeping him company. He and Pat enjoyed gardening together and had the most beautiful flower gardens and nice vegetable gardens every year for many years. Curtis loved music and always had quite a music collection as well as a vintage radio collection. He enjoyed country music, and the old-time gospel was one of his favorites.  His niece, Tina, recalled from a very young age hearing him talking to her mom about one of his favorite songs, “Why Me Lord,” by Kris Kristofferson. Curtis had a real knack for making you laugh. He was just naturally funny and just hearing him laugh would make you laugh with him. The laughter of both Curtis and Pat when everyone was together is one of the fondest memories the family has of them. Curtis was a hard worker, very dedicated, down to earth, tender hearted, funny, a little quirky, and very smart. He was the first in the family to attend college. His younger sister Judy recalls how tough it was coming up behind him. He was the Valedictorian of the school that all 3 of the children attended. When Judy came along 8 years behind him in school, she was never recognized as Judy Webb but instead as Curtis Webb’s little sister. Those were some hard shoes to fill.

Although Curtis will be sadly missed by those he left, they are happy that he is home now and reunited with his wife, parents, and sister never to suffer anymore. It brings to mind another one of his old-time favorite songs, “Sweet By and By.”

Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

One Comment on “Curtis Dannie Webb”

  1. Curtis was one of a kind! I loved his sense of humor. He worked for me in the Appliance Department at Sears until he couldn’t anymore. He kept his refrigerators in perfect order, neatly signed and spotlessly cleaned and kept me in line, too. 🙂 A perfectionist, Curtis was the consummate professional and never met a stranger. I loved both Curtis and Pat. My thoughts and prayers go with you in this time of loss.
