Howard “Buddy” Broadfoot, age 91, of Florence, passed away from his earthly home to be with Jesus on May 1, 2026. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at St. John Methodist Church in Florence, AL, where Buddy was a long-time member. The service will take place at 1:00 pm with Bro. Greg Burnett officiating, followed by a military burial at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at Pleasant Hill Church.
Buddy was born in Lauderdale County to Floyd and Rebecca Broadfoot. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother, David Broadfoot, his brother Gary Broadfoot, his sisters Carol Dean Palmer and Mary Emily Miller, his son-in-law Mike White, and his in-laws Turner and Marie Vaughn.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rose Marie Vaughn Broadfoot; his precious children, Tina White of Highland Park, IL, Laura Pollard (Eric) of Florence, AL, and Emily Harris (Bob) of Dadeville, AL; his beloved grandchildren: Dr. Adam Threet (Jenna) of Austin, TX; Dr. Abby Threet (Todd Ward) of Jacksonville, FL; Darby Scarborough (Brandon) of Auburn, AL; and Maggie Power (Dr. Zade) of Chattanooga, TN. He also cherished his great-grandchildren: Emma Marie Threet, Collin Howard Threet, Grady James Ward, Harris Michael Scarborough, Ford Elijah Scarborough, and John Michael Power. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Michael Broadfoot of Florence, AL, and brothers-in-law Jim Palmer of Louisville, KY, and Bryan Miller of Florence, AL.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Green Oaks Inn and Gentiva Hospice for the love and care they provided to Buddy and our family.
Pallbearers will be Bob Harris, Eric Pollard, Dr. Adam Threet, Bobby Terrell, Mickey Haddock, and Bryan Holcombe. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Palmer, Bryan Miller, Scotty Montgomery, Danny Griffin, Jack Sullivan, and the staff of Green Oaks Inn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Green Oaks Inn or the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery fund in Florence, AL.
Williams Funeral Home of Florence, AL, will be assisting the family.

Uncle Buddy was the type of man I always admired growing up. He was a loving husband, father and Christian. Some of my best memories are the stories he would tell. Rest in peace, much love David & Tricia Hawkins.
He was a kind and thoughtful man and a good neighbor who was always a gentleman God bless his family. The Wilson’s.
