Jamie Lyn Cox, 53, of Florence, passed away July 12, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15 at Williams Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00 pm with the funeral starting at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Ronnie Pannell, Harrison Chastain, and Larry Davenport will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Matthew Cox, Colton Clifton, Jerry Ashby, Les Abston, Kitori Baugh, Charlie Brown, and Michael Burns. Honorary pallbearers are Creed Clifton, Collier Clifton, Cooper Cox, Dale Boren, and Milton Kirby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Nancy Cox; grandparents, Roy and Betty Cox, and Alvin and Margaret Cox.

Jamie is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Cox (Sonya); niece, Maggie Cox Clifton (Colton); and nephew, Matthew Jeffrey Cox (Emily); great nephews, Creed Clifton, Collier Clifton, Cooper Cox; and special friend, Linda Quigley.

Jamie was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ and a passionate Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. He enjoyed watching war movies and never missed an opportunity to laugh at the timeless comedy of The Three Stooges. Jamie generously gave his time as a volunteer with the JAG program at Wilson High School and at local robotics competitions, where he encouraged and supported young people.

One of Jamie’s greatest joys was his four-legged nephews and niece—Ace, Bleu, and Dixie. He loved them dearly and always made sure to talk to them on the phone, a tradition that brought him great happiness and plenty of smiles.
