Earl “Trahe” George Nesbitt III, age 51, of Jasper, Alabama, passed away on July 21, 2026. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Services will follow at 2:00 pm at the chapel of the funeral home.
He is preceded in death by his father, Earl George Nesbitt Jr., and his mother, Rose Delores Goins; grandparents, Earl George Nesbitt and Ossie Dubois Nesbitt; and brother, Mark Cottingham.
Earl is survived by his son Chandler Gaige Nesbitt; stepson, Tyler Fritzie; sisters, Melisa Vickery (Jack), Michelle Ray (Greg), his loving cat “Queen Spooky”; many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Earl enjoyed hiking, writing poetry, composing music, and playing the piano. He worked for the City of Birmingham for many years as a GIS specialist, where he combined his technical expertise with his love of creating maps. Earl cherished the many friendships he made throughout his life, especially the close bonds he formed with his coworkers and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Earl for several years right after his graduation. I will simply say it was a Blessing in my life to have known him.
I’m proud to have known Trahe. He was sweet, smart and funny and a true gentleman. I have so many go memories of the time we spent together. My condolences to the family.
