Marvin Dwight
Holley
May 24, 1958 - July 29, 2026
Marvin Dwight Holley, 68, of Florence, AL, passed away on July 29, 2026 at North Alabama Medical Center. He was born in Enid, OK on Saturday, May 24, 1958. Dwight was born to Marvin and Jean Holley and was the middle of five children.
Dwight traversed the great states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Alabama in his life. He attended 14 schools through his primary education, which comes as no surprise to his close friends. Dwight was known for winning people and making friends, everywhere he went.
He graduated from Bradshaw High School (1976) and continued his education at the University of North Alabama for a year before earning his Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministries from Southwestern Christian University in 1980. It was in this period his love for God and His Word laid the foundation for his future calling– Dwight even led his Bible Quiz team to victory in the 1977 national championship! This began a behind-the-scenes ministry that would soon become an evergreen purpose in his life.
Upon returning home to Florence, Dwight founded a successful air filtration company (Kleen Air Research) from his garage in partnership with his father in 1981. Governed by Christian values and undoubtedly blessed by God, the company served many states for 33 years until it was sold in 2014. When you didn’t find him working, it was probably because he was spending time with family, traveling the country, or out swinging a golf club, or a fist at the TV while cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, Auburn Tigers, or North Alabama Lions.
No matter where life found him, the fire for ministry burned brightly and became part of his every endeavor. As a faithful member of Faith Church since 1981, Dwight lived to serve others through laughs and fun, but mostly in character building for the Kingdom of Heaven. He served on the board of Shoals Christian School for many years, and in church, he led a singles ministry, founded the Royal Rangers program at Faith Church, and served as a deacon under his father-in-law, Pastor Henry Melton. In 2016, he entered the happiest and most fulfilling role of his ministry as a Care Minister and Classics Director at Faith Church.
His greatest achievement, however, was his family legacy. He married the love of his life, Janine Melton, on August 7, 1982. They welcomed their firstborn son, David, on January 6, 1985, and their son, Kevin, on April 18, 1987. His most treasured title was “Grandpa”, and no one won his favor (and spoiling) quite like his grandkids, Nate, Lucy, and Mark, who always had a place in his lap. Dwight never neglected to shine the light of Jesus, whether from the seat of his ministry position or from his special chair at home. His heart overflowed with love!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Jean Holley, and his sister Andrea Gay. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janine Melton Holley, and their two sons, Dwight David (Jessica), and Kevin, and three grandchildren, Nathan, Lucy, and Mark Holley, his sisters, Lynn (Wes) Pate, Carol Holley, and Kathleen Phraner, and many extended family all across the country.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, at Faith Church in Florence, Alabama. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastors Steve Huskey and Ronny Poag. A private family burial will follow the service. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

One Comment on “Marvin Dwight Holley”
I was privileged to be able to work for Dwight at Kleen Air Research several years ago. He was such a wonderful guy. You didn’t have to be around him long to know how much he loved his wife and his boys. I know he had to be the best Grandpa ever! I know he will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with the family! 🙏
