Brenda Dale Marion Thacker, age 81, of Killen, Alabama, passed away on August 21, 2026. A private service of Remembrance will be held by family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Gregory “Greg” and they were married for 50 years. Her parents Walter and Dorothy Marion. Her siblings: Betty Marion Herbert, Merlin Bailey Marion, Johnnie Nell Sherrod, and Cleo Frances Marion.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Sayra Grace Thacker and her fair-haired nephew Allen D. Gezelman and Great nephew Trey Gezelman. Plus, numerous nieces, nephews and greats.

Brenda was a loving wife, mom and aunt through 50 years of marriage and beyond. Brenda made a home for Greg, Sayra, and nephews, and nieces from West Virgina, Kentucky and Florida.  Meticulous and organized, Brenda was the glue that kept us together while simultaneously letting us learn to be independent and adventurous. As an educator of over 30 years, Brenda loved learning. Watching students have their “Ah-Ha” moments, gain confidence and shine brought her great joy.

Cooking and food were Brendas love language. If you were blessed to be at Brenda’s table, leaving hungry was your own fault. Dishes prepared with care and attention; she could make the Chefs of Paris come back for seconds.
