James Anthony White, age 77, of Killen, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Visitation will be on Friday, September 11th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elmer and Effie Mae White; brother, Michael White; grandson, William James Glover.

Survivors are his loving wife of 53 years, Regina Carol Wilson White; daughters, Regina Anne Glover and Kelly Carol Nugent; grandchildren Teddy Nugent, John Nugent, Annika and Amelia Glover and several cousins.

James served in the Army and deployed to Vietnam in 1970-71. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He was a police officer at the Florence Police department, a detective and, briefly, Chief of Police in Killen, AL, then went on to work as a security officer at Brown’s Ferry Nuclear Plant. After retiring, he spent his days working on the family farm.
