You always knew when he walked in the room.

He was the kind of man who could fill a room just by walking into it. Known for his humor, quick wit, and the way he loved to “talk a little shit” just to make someone smile, he had a rare gift for bringing people together. His presence was magnetic, and his banter unforgettable.

At his core, Jim was deeply devoted to the people he loved. Family and friends were everything to him, and he showed that love through his loyalty, generosity, and unwavering presence. He had a way of making people feel like they belonged, and once you were part of his circle, you were there for life.

Recovery was not just a part of his life it was his passion and his purpose. Through Survival Group of Narcotics Anonymous, he found meaning in sharing his story, helping newcomers, and being of service to the still sick and suffering addict. He often shared a saying that reflected the depth of his belief in connection and healing: “True intimacy is when the God in you meets the God in me.” His words, his honesty, and his presence stayed with people long after meetings ended.

Whether he was on the golf course laughing his way through a round with friends, cheering on Alabama football as a lifelong Roll Tide fan, or sitting in a meeting offering honesty and hope, he showed up fully with heart, humility, and authenticity. His impact was lasting, his love was real, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

Love ya, see ya, bye.
