Mamie “Elaine” Gabel age 85 of Florence, Alabama, passed away on April 14, 2026. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 2:00pm. Services will follow in the chapel at 2:00pm with Jim Thacker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Eastep, Toby Eastep, Danny Eastep, Michael Dawson, Christopher Walker and Austin Balentine.

She was preceded by her husband Norman Austin Gabel. Her Father and Mother, Woodrow and Sulie Eastep. One brother, Roger Eastep. Two sisters, Gerald Jean Boston and Cathy Liles. And a son-in-law, Norm Head.

Elaine is survived by her children; Debby Balentine, Norma Sandusky (Jeff), and Sharon Head. Her siblings; Steve Eastep (Venetta), Toby Eastep (Mary), Danny Eastep, Ricky Eastep, Sandra James, Doris Shultz (Ken), and Debbie Morey (John). Four grandchildren; Austin Balentine (Kesha), Alisa Balentine, Christopher Walker (Jennifer), and Anber Grim (Russ).  And three great grandchildren, Lukas Walker, Michael Walker, and Elisha Walker.
