Bertha Daily
Webb
April 1, 1923 - April 26, 2026
Bertha Easter Bell Daily Webb was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1923 in the Mountain Springs Community, Colbert County, Alabama. She lived most of her life in Florence, Alabama until her death on April 26, 2026 at her home in Florence, AL.
She was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church and sang with the High Notes Group at nursing homes and other places. Bertha attributed her strength to her faith in God. Her children and grandchildren remember her singing church hymns often while cooking in her kitchen. She was in the Seven Points Home Demonstration Club and enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and cooking for her family. She made hundreds of cakes in her lifetime and gave many of them to family and friends on birthdays. Everyone was always welcomed to her home. She was filled with love and loved her family, friends, and everyone. Along with selling Stanley Home Products for 55 years, Bertha volunteered at the Eliza Memorial Hospital for 14 years, and volunteered at the Help Center (An Interdenominational Ministry of the Churches of Lauderdale County) for 16 years.
When Bertha was in her 80s, she went to the Academy of Lifelong Learning at Northwest-Shoals Community College to learn how to use the computer. She loved researching genealogy and keeping records in The Family Tree Maker program. Her research included visiting libraries and cemeteries, and keeping up with births, weddings, and obituaries in newspapers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Henry Douglas Webb, their son Jerry Douglas Webb, who only lived 11 hours, and their daughter Wanda Gail Webb Wells at age 45. She was the daughter of the late William Herbert and Susie Anna McCullough Daily, and sister of the late Clifford Daily (Virginia), Herbert Daily (Ruth), and Birdie Collum (Ezell).
Bertha leaves her cherished memories to her son Harold Dewayne Webb, Florence; daughters Sharon Carpenter (Toby), Linda Trousdale Walsh (William), both of Florence; two brothers, Marvin Daily (Freda), Cherokee, AL, Garvin Daily (Marie), Florence, AL; sister Margie Rose Lemley (John), Trinity, AL; Eight grandchildren, Brian Trousdale (Wendy), Kevin Trousdale (Kim), Shannon Carpenter, Sabrina Carpenter, Amanda Gibbs (Paul), Brandon Wells (Laura), Abby Webb, and Jenna Webb; thirteen great grandchildren, Heather Trousdale, Marshall Trousdale, Kamryn Trousdale, Kaden Trousdale, Keller Trousdale, Kennedy Trousdale, Daniel Gibbs, Addison Gibbs, Mason Gibbs, Cody Wells, Tyler Wells, Henry Wells, and Ryan Wells.
