Ella
Mobley

August 17, 1937 - June 9, 2026

Ella Jean Mobley, age 88, passed peacefully after living a good and full life rooted in faith, family, music, and love.

Born in Bonnertown, Tennessee, Ella Jean was the daughter of Ozzo and Audie Holley. She later met the love of her life, Glenn Mobley, with whom she shared a devoted life and marriage. Glenn passed away two years ago, and Ella Jean will now join him in Heaven.

Ella Jean spent much of her life in Florence, Alabama, and Columbia, Tennessee, where she was active in her church and lived out her deep Southern Baptist faith. She loved Jesus, loved her family, and always encouraged those around her to go to church and keep faith at the center of their lives.

Over the years, Ella Jean worked in the clothing business and operated various men’s clothing stores, including the Colony Men’s Shops. She had a creative spirit, which she expressed through painting, playing the piano, and her love of hymns and gospel music. She also enjoyed cooking and took great care of her beloved husband, Glenn.

Ella Jean had a warm and friendly personality. She was a great listener, had a giving heart, and enjoyed spending time with her neighbors in the Stoneybrook community. She was also a loyal Alabama football fan.

She is survived by her children, Steve Mobley and Tamra Mobley, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory and the example she set through her faith, kindness, and love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Mobley, and her son, Marty, whom she missed dearly for more than 30 years.

Ella Jean will be remembered for her love of Jesus, her devotion to her family, her warmth toward others, and the joy she found in gospel music, church, and the simple blessings of a life well lived.

A graveside service will be held at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama, on Saturday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Glenn and Marty and resting in the presence of her Lord in Heaven.
