Larry Neil Johnson, age 44, of Florence, passed away August 13, 2021.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 29, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home.  The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Rodney Sparks officiating.  Burial will be at Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery.

Neil was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Johnson; maternal grandparents,  Freddy and Orpha Beasley; paternal grandparents, Linnie “Bill” and Dot Johnson; and great-grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa Beasley Fuller (Steve); son, Tyler Lee Johnson; sister, Nikki Johnson (Brandon); and girlfriend, Angel McGee and her children, Benton and Coral Purser.

Neil was a 1996 graduate of Coffee High School, and the owner of Central Tire.  He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed spending time at the race track, monster truck shows, fishing with his boys, cooking, and spending time with his family.  Neil never met a stranger and would bend over backwards to help anyone who needed it.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at First Southern Bank to the account “Oakland VFD in memorial of Neil Johnson”

The family would like to express their appreciation to Nancy Wilson, Marcia Henson, Jean Olive, Diane Haddock, Gail Newman and Maddy B. White for their loving Care.

  6. My heart broke when I heard from my son, Adam that Neil passed. He was part of the “East Hill Gang”, as they called themselves. He spent many hours at my house. My son, Nub, was one of his good friends. He was a joy to be around. I know the family will miss him greatly. My sympathy to you. Trish
