Edward Ray Rikard of Killen, passed away February 19, 2023 at the age of 77.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The funeral will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ronnie Poag officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hattie Rikard, and brothers, Harold and Jimmy Rikard.
Survivors include his loving wife, Vicki Hannah Rikard; children, Kimberly Higginbotham (Steven), Leighanne Thigpen, Rachel Giordano, Deane Rikard (Leah) and Rob Rikard (Erica); grandchildren, Josh Thigpen, Tyler Staggs, Jessica Thigpen, Carter Newton, Maddie Newton, Noah Rikard and Addison Rikard; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Deane Rikard, Rob Rikard, Josh Thigpen, Tyler Staggs, Steven Higginbotham and Carter Newton.
Ray graduated from Deshler High School and attended the University of Alabama. He was the District Manager for Liberty National Life, having 33 years of employment with the company. He attended Faith Church.
His passions were golf, fishing and working in his yard, but his most special time was that time spent with his family and his pets.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

  2. Ray and I played golf together several times years ago. He would laugh at my baseball swing. He was a scratch golfer. A good friend that I will see again.
