Billy Neal Harrison, age 89, of Florence, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025. Visitation will be Friday, July 18th, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Justin Pannell officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl, Sr. and Mildred Harrison; wife, Betty Sue Wallace Harrison; brothers, Reece Harrison and Earl Harrison, Jr.
Survivors are his son, Stephen Harrison (Lisa); daughter, Angie Killen (Jeff); sister, Mary Ethel McDonald; brother, Jack Harrison (Janet); grandson, Harrison Killen; several nieces and nephews.
Billy was a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ and was retired with Reynolds Alloys. He loved country music and Alabama football. In-lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Billy has been a family friend for many years, more than 35 as Jeff my Son and Angie will celebrate their 35 th wedding Anniversary in August. Billy was a friend to all. He was definitely a people person. The assisted living director in Hoover, commented what a pleasure to have him at the facility, He adjusted well, didn’t complain and become depressed to go home, he made friends. He enjoyed the musicians that came in to entertain the residents. He was closer to his Son and daughter, they could visit more often . He and Betty raised two wonderful children, Steve and Angie, the best daughter-in-law anyone could hope for. It’s not goodbye Billy, So long for now, we will see you again..
I was blessed to grow up with a second family in Betty Sue and Billy’s home. Angie and I were best friends, and most nights were spent staying over at each other’s homes. Billy was like a second Father to me. He was always working hard to provide for his family. Working full time at Reynolds Aluminum and still finding time to paint houses on the side. Summers were spent going on vacation to Bronson Missouri and Oak Ridge Tennessee to hear country music. I went with them once to hear the Oak Ridge Boys. He was a member of the Sherrod Ave Church of Christ and many services I joined them to partake in youth ministry classes.
I will always be grateful for the role he played in my life. My heart is with the entire family during this sad time.
