Sammy Jewel
Roberts

October 2, 1957 - September 23, 2026

Sammy Jewel Roberts, age 68, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Visiation will be on Saturday, September 26th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will be at Bluewater Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Holden, Andy Holden, Charles Overton, Roland White, Michael Dover, and Justin Murphy.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Sam and Marie Roberts; sisters, Paula Overton, Dayness Harrison, and Shana Barringer; sister-in-law, Kim Holden, father-in-law, Sonny Holden.

Survivors are his loving wife of 46 years, Tammy Holden Roberts; children, Hunter Roberts (Ramsey) and Mallory Murphy (Justin); mother-in-law, Barbara Holden; sister, Jan Kelley; grandchildren, Mason, Marilee, Will, Walker, and Kase.

Sammy was a member of First Baptist Center Star, retired from TVA, and graduated from Brooks High School in 1976.

Sammy was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many. He was one of the hardest-working people you could know, whether he was at TVA, tending to his horses, working in the pasture, or taking care of his food plots. He loved hunting, Auburn football, old westerns, and peanut brittle, but more than anything, he loved his family.

Sammy and his wife, Tammy, began dating in 1974 as high school sweethearts and were married in 1980. They were the perfect pair “Sam and Tam”. In 1984, they welcomed their son, Hunter. Sammy was so proud to have a son and loved sharing the outdoors with him. In 1988, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Mallory, who was the apple of his eye. His heart grew even bigger when the grandchildren came along, and he absolutely adored each of them.

Sammy set the best example of what a man should be. He was honest, fair, dependable, and kind. He believed in God, working hard, keeping your word, taking care of your family, and doing things the right way. He was the kind of man who knew how to work with his hands, take care of the land, and figure things out. He led by example, and the lessons he passed down about hard work, responsibility, family, and character will continue for generations.

His laugh was infectious, and he loved having a good time. He will be deeply missed by so many, but the life he lived, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will continue through the family and friends who loved him.
