Jauren David Breck Evans, age 40 of Florence, passed away on January 14, 2026.  Services were held private.

He was preceded in death by his mother Antonia Evans.

Jauren is survived by his father, Tony Cherry.  His brother, Jasmend Evans. His cousin, Stella Armstead. Four children he loved as his own: Chandler Sexton, Caleb Sexton, Maggie Sexton and Aaliyah Sexton. His close friend Jackie Borden.  And two people in his life, Melissa and Abby Castle.

“He was a devoted stepfather who loved his four stepchildren, and he took immense pride in being part of their lives. Family meant everything to him, and his love, loyalty, and presence will forever be felt by those who knew him best.

Jarrie had a deep love for food and found joy in sharing meals, trying new places, and savoring life’s simple pleasures. He was also a passionate and competitive PlayStation gamer, always ready for a challenge and never shy about his skills. Gaming was more than a hobby for him—it was something that brought him happiness, excitement, and connection.

In his final days, Jarrie was lovingly cared for by a special person who showed him compassion and dedication, along with her daughter. The family is deeply grateful for the care, kindness, and comfort they provided during that time.

Jarrie will be remembered for his big heart, his love for his family, his competitive spirit, and the joy he brought into everyday moments. He leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by those who loved him.
